Brady Quinns March 22 Pro-Day

Brady Quinn ran forties of 4.82 and 4.73 at his second Pro Day.

On March 22, Quinn weighed in 233 pounds. He ran indoors on FieldTurf. He ran his 40s faster than expected (4.82 and 4.73). He also ran the short shuttle in 4.22 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.79 (with tiny cones, not tall ones). In addition, he had a 36-inch vertical jump and a 9-foot-7 broad jump.

Quinn's 20 yard shuttle of 4.22 is .36 seconds faster than Marshawn Lynch at the Combine. We have a hard time seeing Quinn fall out of the top three.

ABOUT THE IRISH Lacrosse Team: Notre Dame (3-3) is coming off a 7-6 defeat at Dartmouth on Saturday ... the Irish are ranked 19th in this week's Nike/Inside Lacrosse media poll and 18th in last week's USILA coaches poll ... freshman attackman Will Yeatman leads the Irish in points with 20 and assists with 11 ... his nine goals rank him fourth on the team.

This kid is a stud. Being in the attack on a Lacrosse team is one thing. Leading the team as a freshman is another. But being 6' 6" and 260 pounds and an attacker is phenomenal. Yeatman outweighs most guys by 60 pounds.

Not much to say about the uninspired play of the Irish yesterday. Whatever Brey said or did in the locker room at half-time, was not the right thing. The team came out and let Winthrop distribute their plane tickets back home. Please make sure your carry-on items are stowed safetly in the over head compartment and don't let the Spokane hit you in the ass.

When your team takes 60 something shots in a game and 20 something are 3 pointers, it is a good idea to make more than 5 of those 3 pointers. If not, how about trying to play real basketball and work the ball inside. Hmmmmmm

I'm done ranting about the BB team. It was a better year than expected, but still a disappointment at the end. Tory Jackson will be Big East player of the year in the next two years. He is lightning quick and handles the pressure well. McAlarney will be back and the tandem will be strong for the next season. They were fun to watch and i look forward to next season.

Brandon Newman Offered...

Louisville (Ky.) Pleasure Ridge Park defensive tackle Brandon Newman makes it four defensive lineman in the derby city. The PRP star currently sports an offer from Kentucky after a season that saw him star at nose guard and defensive end. His coach, Chris Wolfe, compares him to current UK defensive tackle Myron Pryor, who was of similar size and build coming out of high school. Newman currently sits at 6-foot-0 and around 290 pounds and with a stellar 3.9 GPA, could see a considerable amount of attention come early. Newman is a weight room warrior, nearly squatting 700 pounds at 15 years old and already benching over 300 pounds in both the bench press and the clean. (IE)

For those of you who don't know what or where Winthrop is:

Winthrop has played well all year and even early on the experts were saying very good things about them. They were very excited to get into the Tourney, but feel slighted with an 11 seed.

A lot of the talking heads have Winthrop as their Politically Correct Pick for this tournament. As Irish fans we know that the Bias against Notre Dame exists, but we are still shocked when the picks come out and ND is in Spokane. How does ND get a 6 seed in the Midwest regional and get sent to Spokane, Washington, and Louisville get a 6 seed to and get Lexington. Yes the same Lexington that is in Kentucky. The tournament committee has done its part in trying to keep fans away from the game. Will you be making the Trek?

The Winthrop team are no slouches, but does having a season with 4 "Good" losses make a tourney team. Doesn't that sound familiar? Remember ND football.

ND will need to come out playing well and bury the Eagles early. Letting any team during March Madness stick around is never a good idea and giving Winthrop added confidence may bury the Irish. The Irish are 12 points better than Winthrop, but which Irish team will show up. This is by the way, The Ultimate Road Game.
