The Game, as I like to call it. Well, at least this year, is ready for Kickoff. I have been watching the countdown for 3 months and the clock has finally reached midnight.

I Will be in an undisclosed safe location for the event, and may or may not be able to catch the game.

This has got to be one of the most anticipated games in ND recent history. The chips are all in line and the players are all ready to show what they have or have not.

One player will be Running with a STICK in his hand for a couple of hours before the Big Game.

Most if not all eyes will be on FOUR players today. Isn't it fun to have a QB race of somesort after all this time.

Nah...

Just the roster for the Blue-Gold Game. I have gone over it a hundred times and still can't figure out what Weis is up to.

What I do see is Demetrius Jones and Jimmy Clausen handing the ball off to Armando Allen and Travis Thomas on the Blue team. They will also Throw to West, Grimes and Carlson. Does that deserve a HMMM? Who knows, but it is great for blogger speak.

I also see Gary Gray, Zibby, Wooden and Lambert, with Crum in the middle. HMMM?

I know we can't read too much into anything now, but going against most of the Number Ones, in my opinion, on D is Clausen and Jones.

I am sure Weis' thought process is completely opposite, but we all like to Ass-U-Me.

Should be a fantastic day. The stands will be filled and the sky will be Blue.

The worst part about the game being this Saturday is, after that we have 136 days, 17 hours, 45 minutes, and 18 seconds until GT comes to town.

As always Travis Thomas looks very good. Quick, strong and looks stout. I have always liked the way he hits the hole. Will be an improvement over DW in this regard. Schwapp's knee is still bothering him and he doesn't look like he can do much. It will be nice to get him at full strength. He is big, fast and powerful. Nice addition to a Red Zone offense. Jabbie looks quick during drills and so does Aldridge. Looks like his injury is gone. Click the link to see what was said about him and Armando. Armando Allen as always looked quick, but still unsteady with some of the drills. Will be nice to see him carry the ball on April 21st.

The O line drills didn't show much. Young is powerful and quick (duh), Carufel looks good on the pull and keeps his hips nice and low. Sully as expected looks good and so does Turkovich.

The defensive pursuit drills showed off some speed during the drill. McNeil, Zibby looked good in pursuit. Wade looked very fast for a big guy. I think he will be the surprise of the Defense this season. He hails from the Cincinnati area and I expected more from him earlier, but now the new D will help with that and he will excel.

Crum and Brockington, in the limited drill shown looked good with nice explosiveness off the edge during their backer drill. It makes me crazy to think that Charlie didn't make the move earlier, but we gotta live with it now. The future looks quite bright.

Very good article in the South Bend Tribune about Demetrius Jones. I hope Mr. Hansen will do the same for each of the QB prospects. It would be nice to get a taste of what each has to offer and what makes them tick. I have emailed him and asked for fair treatment of each athlete.

On paper, the quarterback competition to replace departed standout Brady Quinn involves four players: Jones, freshman prodigy Jimmy Clausen, Evan Sharpley and Zach Frazer. Realistically, it is destined to be a two-man race between Jones and Clausen -- if Clausen is not hindered by a lingering arm injury.
