Anthony McDonald has been talked about for weeks as coming to ND, but now the word is out and it is official. He came with his entire family, he saw what ND has to offer, and he decided to Let the force be with him and become the arch enemy of his Fathers Alma Mater. He definitely knows what he is leaving, and what he is coming to. I am sure that USC will come in late and offer, but integrity seems to be a big part of the new Irish class and nobody is going to pull a Little on us.
He is a player that the Irish wanted for his ability to make plays from the inside or outside in the 34 defense of Corwin Brown. At 6'3" and 220 pounds, he will probably play in the middle of the D. But with his quickness and athleticism, he could play a big outside LB'er.
I read an Interview with Anthony on March 11th and knew that he was Irish, just waiting for the right time. He attends Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks California.
After watching the film that I could, my conclusion was that this kid needed to be a Domer along with Arthur Brown. Brown is a long shot for now, but if a Scholorship is available in the fall and he sees the Defensive play that is coming, he will also be Irish. McDonald is a teammate of Dayne Crist who is another target of Charlie and Company.
Good Luck Mr. McDonald and you are certainly welcome at this Notre Dame.
