A run at All-American honors wasn’t enough for John Carlson to move on to the NFL ranks. Returning for his fifth year means the topnotch tight end will get the chance to captain Notre Dame this season as the Irish program hopes to rebound from major personnel losses. Carlson thinks he could be part of the solution that keeps Notre Dame winning.
