-- appear on the National Football Foundation's College Football Hall of Fame Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) ballot released this week. The ballot contains 75 players and eight coaches vying for induction in 2007. The only other school providing more than three candidates is USC with five.The Hall of Fame class will be announced later this spring and then inducted at the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame's 50th Awards Dinner in December at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.

This is the tradeoff for Zook at Illinois. Students are in an uproar and nothing can be done. The Chief has left the building. Zook gets a great recruiting class, but the Chief must go. We must all step up and fight this nonsense.

How long before PETA steps in and gets rid of the gator or the owl? Or, how long before the Florida Alligators stand up and fight the man. They may have a point as the Florida Mascot belittles the Alligator and makes him look a little like Wally Gator.

How long before the Irish American Society stands up and dumps on our beloved Leprechaun? Don't tell me there is no gold at the end of rainbow.

If the schools offered cash to these so-called organizational witches of doom, Illiniwek would still be at the games. Don't let them take away the Leprechaun. Stand up for your rights.
