It was a good night for ND football, sort of. The Irish played a good game defensively. Offense could of and should of been more productive on the passing end. Clausen (14 of 26) was less effective than I would have liked against a poor UW defense. The sack given up by Clausen was not acceptable. You cannot lose that much yardage against a good team and get away with it. Clausen missed on 10 of his first 16 passes against a team ranked last in the nation in pass efficiency defense.

I know the team slacked for a while after taking the big lead, but that is no excuse. The first team D did a very nice job holding the Huskies to 200+/- yards and recoring four sacks. This was the first week that I could see a Tenuta/Brown defense doing what they wanted to do. The running games showed some promise, which is encouraging. And now we have 2, that's right two field goals. And those came all in ONE game. Things are looking up.

Let's see what Pitt can bring to the table after getting pummelled by a mediocre to bad Rutgers team.

Clausen and the Irish offense should be licking their collective Chops waiting for the weekend.
