Don't Ever Forget...

O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

Thanks Irishman. Still a sad rememberance. I still have a picture of my sister framed by the twin towers. She was in NY the year before with hubby on vacation. Taken from the ferry. They had forgotten the pix stuck it in a shoebox with others. Then she was going through it after Sept 11th when i was over there and said "Oh my God" There framed by her was the twin towers.

Off we go into the wild blue yonder,
Climbing high into the sun;
Here they come zooming to meet our thunder,
At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun! (Give 'er the gun hey!)
Down we dive, spouting our flame from under,
Off with one hell of a roar!*
We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey!
Nothing can stop the U.S. Air Force!

Minds of men fashioned a crate of thunder,
Sent it high into the blue;
Hands of men blasted the world asunder;
How they lived God only knew! (God only knew then!)
Souls of men dreaming of skies to conquer
Gave us wings, ever to soar!
With scouts before And bombers galore. Hey!
Nothing can stop the U.S. Air Force!

Yes, it is a day that should be remembered by every American. Or as Ms. South Carolina so eloquently stated "U.S. Americans".

In order to find his equal, an Irishman is *forced* to talk to God.
