First, there's Evan Sharpley, who was the No. 1 backup to Brady Quinn last season. Coming out of Marshall, Mich., back in 2005, Sharpley received nowhere near the fanfare that Clausen is getting now. Still, he was Rivals' 12th-rated pro-style quarterback in the nation. Further, up until recently he was a two-sport Notre Dame athlete (baseball). But this spring, he decided to forgo baseball for football.
Sharpley gives up baseball to compete for the Number one job as a ND QB.
