A Look at the Future

The 2008 season is now and we can't wait for commits to de-commit at the last minute. By now, we all know that The Junior Golic was offered by Notre Dame and he accepted. Coming from a family that is known by Notre Dame fans, the likelihood that a de-commit occurs are minute.

Well that one is done and it is time to move on. With the recruiting process in today's world being 24 / 7 / 365 , a coach like Charlie Weis needs to get out early and often.

One player Notre Dame is looking at for the 2008 season is Sean Cwynar, a 6-foot-4, 283-pound defensive end from Marian Central Catholic in Woodstock, Ill. With his size and quickness, Sean can be an intricale part of the new 3-4 Defense of Corwin Brown. He has the frame to put on another 20-25 pounds without losing a lot of speed and quickness.

As a junior He earned All-State, Academic All-State and All-Conference honors and was named Defensive Player of the Year for his conference.

He has received offers from Illinois, Northwestern, Iowa, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Wisconsin and of course NOTRE DAME. He is part of Rivals and Scouts top players in the class of 2008.

With all the problems in the recruiting front the past few seasons, I expect a lot of the committments will give their verbals earlier than usual. Commits that De-commit are getting to a few coaches and in my opinion, Charlie has it right.

"Either Commit, or get off the Pot"
